The North Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered whale species, with fewer than 400 individuals in the western North Atlantic Ocean. In the eastern North Atlantic Ocean, populations are virtually extinct.

The right whale is characterized by the lack of a dorsal fin, as well as callosities--hard white buildup of barnacles and cyamids--on its head. We've filled those in with subtle white glitter so your whale will always have a little extra shine.

All-time fave, and most complimented pin!

I bought this as an impulse buy, because it was so beautiful and partly benefited a good cause--whales. Every single time I've worn it, someone has complimented it, and asked where I got it. Last week, I even went on a whale-watching venture and then a ferry boat, and got compliments from people on both journeys. It's just the loveliest pin, sturdy and gorgeous at the same time, and I would wear it all the time if I weren't afraid I'd increase the possibility of losing it. Seriously, I hope Oh!Plesiosaur knows how many people have admired this splendid pin, and how much I love it even when it's just on my dresser looking fab. 14/10 would recommend again. x
